David is no stranger to the Porsche brand, having twice won the Australian GT Championship in the make in 2009 and 2010, as well as competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship. He also won the Australian Tourist Trophy Championship in a Porsche in 2009 and 2010.
In 2006, in his maiden year in the Porsche Carrera Cup series, he was named ‘Rookie of the Year’ and subsequently went on to achieve podium finishes on many occasions.
Throughout his career, David’s mainstay has been sports cars and touring cars and in 2009 he competed in the V8 Supercars’ long distance races as co-driver before doing a full season in 2011 in the Fujitsu V8 Development Series.
2012 was his first full season in V8 Supercars in a Holden Commodore VE with Brad Jones Racing before moving to Dick Johnson Racing in 2014 driving a Ford Falcon FG and then on to Garry Rogers Motorsport in 2015 driving a Volvo S60 Polestar.
In 2016 he switched between driving duties in the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Supercars Pirtek Enduro Cup where he co-drove the #33 Volvo S60 with Scott McLaughlin to record three podiums and third place in the series. He finished the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup championship in third place.
After a very successful year of victories and multiple podium finishes, David emerged as 2017 Champion. He also returned to Supercars in the latter part of the year to co-drive a Nissan Altima for Kelly Racing in the endurance races.
In 2018 he was runner-up for the national title and winner of the Porsche Endurance Cup, thanks to 11 podiums that included two race wins through the year.
In 2019, David continues in the Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup driving one of 26 ‘new generation’ Porsche 911s featuring a fresh PAYCE livery.
