David returns this year to the hotly-contested Porsche Carrera Cup Australia series after switching from a full-time seat in V8 Supercars to the premier sports car category in Australia. This year he will be at the wheel of a 911 Porsche GT3 Cup (type 991) sporting the red and white PAYCE livery.
David is no stranger to the Porsche brand, having won the Australian GT Championship twice, in 2009 and 2010, as well as competing in the Australian Carrera Cup Championship in the make. He also won the Australian Tourist Trophy Championship in a Porsche in 2009 and 2010.
In his maiden year in the Carrera Cup series he was named ‘Rookie of the Year’ and subsequently went on to win races and achieve podium places on many occasions.
Throughout his career, his mainstay has been sports cars and touring cars and in 2009 he competed in the V8 Supercars’ long distance races as co-driver before doing a full season in 2011 in the Fujitsu V8 Series (the forerunner to the Dunlop Series).
2012 was his first full season in V8 Supercars in a Holden Commodore VE with Brad Jones Racing before moving to Dick Johnson Racing in 2014 driving a Ford Falcon FG and then on to Garry Rogers Motorsport in 2015 driving a Volvo S60 Polestar for the Wilson Security Racing GRM (Volvo Polestar Racing) team.
When David is not racing he is kept busy running David Wall Racing which besides preparing his own cars is also responsible for looking after a number of cars for private owners both on and off the track.
To relax and keep fit David can often be found at the local kart circuit honing his skills and enjoying some leisure time away from the workshop with his crew and friends.
