John Bowe gave it his Best Shot - Brian Boyd
"John Bowe gave it his best to haul Johnson in, taking a pole, a win and two seconds, but with the rules allowing drivers to drop their three worse performances, it was not enough," he said.
"Adam Bressington powered to a pair of race victories on Sunday, but John Bowe took consolation from sealing the final round and being runner-up in the championship.
Head to Head Action in the Final Race of 2018 - Brian Boyd
"The final race of the year was the thriller of the weekend, with Bressington and John Bowe going head to head for the full 12-lap duration – the Camaro again proving just too quick on the straight.
"Johnson's championship came thanks to consistency throughout the season: He won 14 races, failed to finish only twice and never finished a race lower than fifth place," Brian Boyd continued.
"Bowe was a persistent challenger throughout and would ultimately finish second for the second straight season."
Brian said the season rated highly as one of the best ever, with new and re-built cars and drivers progressively joining the field.
"The TCM category continues to be a crowd favourite for the close racing and especially the spectacle of the big cars being wrestled around the turns," Brian Boyd added.
