Brian Boyd said it was a busy weekend for Team PAYCE drivers, with Richard Muscat from GRM and Macauley Jones from Brad Jones Racing also competing in the Sandown 500 as co-drivers.
"Mason Barbera left his SuperUte in the garage so he was able to put his efforts into his Commodore drive," Boyd said.
"Friday's wet conditions didn't appear to faze Macauley or Richard and they kicked off the meet with 4th and 5th fastest times respectively, while Mason took it a bit easier to be 16th.
Macauley was the early pacesetter in the #14 Commodore before last minute moves by Jacobson gave him the top spot.

"Practice two in the afternoon saw Richard maintain his form in slippery conditions with another 5th fastest time, while Macauley was 11th and Mason 13th.," continued Brian Boyd.
'Qualifying was interrupted when Mason left the track and was stranded in the sand trap. Macauley recorded 8th fastest, Richard 9th.
Races Bring Strong Battles on Saturday and Sunday – Brian Boyd
Brian Boyd said race one on Saturday was the usual scramble but Richard kept out of trouble to finish 6th with Macauley also driving a good race to come home in 11th and Mason finishing 17th.
"Race two on Sunday saw Mason with the best result of the three Team PAYCE members with a top 10 finish after some hard battles to come up the order. Macauley was 19th and Richard unfortunately had a DNF," Brian said.
"Mason has had quite a baptism into the category in his first season, but continues to be very positive as he progresses on a sharp learning curve and posts some good results," Brian Boyd finished.

"Bathurst is the next round in the championship and once again Richard and Macauley will be as busy as ever, but they would revelling in the amount of racing they are getting as well as the experience in the premier touring car series," Brian Boyd noted of the upcoming event.
