WOODSTOCK WINTON SUPERSPRINT 2017- BRIAN BOYD PREVIEW
- PAYCE Head Office, Sydney NSW.
A Big Entry List of Top Drivers and Cars will Thrill the TCM Fans at Winton in 2017
Brian Boyd says the Touring Car Masters fans should get their money's worth this weekend with a big entry list of top drivers and cars.
"With no TCM competition since early March at Clipsal in Adelaide, teams have had plenty of time to work on their cars and the field is back at Winton for round two with more cars and drivers making up a strong field of 27 runners," Mr. Boyd said.
JB Currently Leads the Championship – Brian Boyd.
"Team PAYCE driver, John Bowe currently leads the championship and the team has used the break to freshen up the #18 PAYCE Holden Torana, giving it the A9X look and new livery.
"It's no secret that JB loves Winton, as it was where he won his first TCM race in 2008 and since then has practically owned the circuit. In 2016, he had a clean sweep when he debuted the Torana and established new lap records and won the two championship races.
"JB is likely to have a fight on his hands this weekend with returning frontrunners, Eddie Abelica (XB Falcon Hardtop) and Bruce Williams (Holden Torana SL/R 5000) presenting well-prepared cars.
Melinda Price Makes Welcomed Debut – Brian Boyd
Adding interest to the category will be the debut appearance of former Supercars driver, Melinda Price, driving an XA Ford Falcon GT. Melinda has been encouraged by the support shown by several TCM drivers including John Bowe in helping her return to racing.
"Melinda is a former member of the 'Castrol Cougers' squad of the 1990s and is making a gradual return to racing, with her participation in the TCM category most welcomed by supporters of the category," Brian Boyd said.
"Three races make up round two of the 2017 Touring Car Masters championship, with two 20 minute practice sessions on Friday then qualifying and race one on Saturday and wrapping up with two races on Sunday, the final race being a reverse grid that promises to be exciting and challenging as ever," finished Brian Boyd.
