- PAYCE Headquarters, Sydney NSW.
Porsche Carrera Cup Australia
David Wall, having a great season in his return to the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia category.
"David Wall, having now amassed a win, four seconds and two third placings from the past eight starts, is plainly having a great season in the Porsche GT3 and currently sits in fifth place on the championship leaderboard in his return to the PCCA category," noted Mr Brian Boyd from the pit lane.
Wall steps up well to the challenges ...
"After Sandown, David said he was pleased to have made a contribution with co-driver duties to help the Wilson Security Racing GRM team bring the #33 Volvo home in fourth place in the Sandown 500. His efforts were even more outstanding given his two podiums in the three Porsche races.
"He was one of five Porsche drivers who had to jump back and forth between left hand and right hand drive cars, with different gear shifts and different tyre compounds. They will do it all again this coming extended weekend at Bathurst," Brian Boyd said.
Largest and strongest field of the season - high calibre motor racing.
As if the series has not been challenging to date with the high calibre of drivers competing, this round of the series at Bathurst will see the largest and strongest field of the season, with two-time Bathurst 1000 winner, Tony Longhurst making his debut in a car prepared by Steve Richards Motorsport. A total of 22 Porsches will grid up to battle for the Carrera Cup and Carrera Challenge titles.
Last year's Bathurst winner, Matt Campbell continues to be the form driver despite some setbacks at Sandown, but David remains in title contention, especially as he has so much experience and knowledge of the Bathurst track, with his most recent success being a third outright and class win at this year's 6 hour race.
The seventh round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia championship will be contested over three races, including the curtain-raiser to Sunday's Bathurst 1000.
